Abstract art by London-based artist Hannah L. Farrell, inspired by sounds of human vocals and trumpets from Trinity College.
Calling All SuperArtists!!!
This challenge is inspired by all those sweet sounds of summer -- birds chirping, thunder booming, cicadas buzzing, waves crashing -- just to name a few...
Your SuperArtist challenge is to create an abstract artwork using your favorite summer sound(s) as your inspiration. Abstract art is a painting or sculpture containing lines, brushstrokes, shapes and color as the subject rather than a person/place/thing. This work may look like a scribble design so be sure to give it a good title.
To Begin --
Do a quick brainstorm of the summer sounds that make you happy. Spend time listening to your sound with your eyes closed. Begin imagining what that sound would look like.
Pick the colors that "match" your chosen sound and draw what you think your sound looks like on paper, repeating and overlapping your abstract design, filling the entire paper.
