Challenge #13 -- A SuperArtist Holiday
Calling All SuperArtists!!! This challenge is inspired by the chaos of family gatherings during the holidays. Between roasting the turkey and mashing the potatoes, there is certainly time to do a little art project, right? Let’s provide our families with a creative escape when those holiday get-togethers become a little wild. Your SuperArtist challenge is to prepare a SuperArtist activity, like these simple newspaper hats, for your family to participate in during one of your gatherings. Your art activity can be done on a small table or even a corner of the floor. Guests can come and go as they please, getting a small dose of creative fun to go along with their turkey. To Begin — Prepare a simple art project that requires few materials, little space and a couple of easy-to-follow steps. Consider a project that requires easy clean up as well -- anything involving glitter is probably a no no! Create an example for your family to see. Use the above instructions if you’d like to make simple newspaper hats.
Your materials will vary depending on your project. Our hat project will require large (butcher) paper or newspaper cut in approximately 12” x 16” (kid size), 15” x 19” (adult size) or 8” x 12” (doll size) rectangles. You’ll also want some decorating materials like markers, feathers, stickers, etc. Embrace the energy of a great family gathering by getting creative together! You may learn a little something new about your family members!!! Snap a photo (before, during or after) of your holiday art project and post to our SA gallery @lululeofund on Instagram.*
